The city the Northeast has always traded through — and the remote client relationship that feels least remote.
Kolkata is the nearest large metro to our office and the city the Northeast has long traded, banked and sought specialist treatment through. For a client here, working with a team in Agartala involves less translation than almost anywhere else in India: Bengali is a language our software already runs in, the business culture is familiar, and a call at nine in the morning finds everyone at their desks. Of all the places we deliver to remotely, this is where the arrangement asks least of the client.
Plenty of the city's commercial software is of a certain age — desktop accounting packages, custom systems whose developer has moved on, websites nobody can log into. Replacement is therefore a common starting point, and the first job is recovering what can be recovered: data exports, the domain, hosting access and the source code where it exists.
There is no Meta Mint office in Kolkata. Projects are delivered remotely, and although the city is about a day's travel from Agartala, visits are not part of the standard offer; one can be quoted if a project genuinely needs it.
Salt Lake Sector V alone has dozens, and the right one depends on your project. Compare live work in your sector, ask who owns the code and domain afterwards, and get the scope in writing. Meta Mint is not in Sector V or anywhere else in Kolkata; we build for Kolkata clients remotely from Agartala and are a sensible option if you value a small, stable team and a fixed price.
It follows the scope: the number of pages, whether there is a shop or a login area, integrations, and who supplies the content. A Bengali version adds translation and layout work. We put all of that in a written scope and quote a single figure against it.
Yes. A Bengali interface is available for frontline staff in our products, which is standard in our home market. Websites can be built in Bengali and English with a language switcher; translation is either supplied by you or quoted separately.
Usually. We take an export of masters and balances from the old package, map it to the new system, import it into a test copy, and have your accounts team check it before go-live. Where the old software cannot export, we agree what is re-entered and what stays in the old system for reference.
Not as standard. Kolkata is about a day's travel from Agartala, and a visit can be quoted when a project genuinely needs one — hardware commissioning at several branches, for instance. Everything else, including training and go-live, is delivered remotely.
