The market closest to ours — same time zone, shared language, and the corridor the Northeast has always traded through.
East India is the part of the country our work translates into most directly. Kolkata is the corridor the Northeast has always traded, banked and sought medical treatment through; Bengali is a language our software already runs in; and there is no time-zone gap, no cultural translation and no seasonal window on when a project can start. Of all the places we deliver remotely, this is the one where remote feels least like a compromise.
The buying pattern differs from home, though. The organisations that approach us from West Bengal and Odisha are usually replacing something rather than computerising for the first time — an ageing desktop package, a half-finished custom build, a website nobody has been able to edit since the developer stopped answering. So the first conversation is about migration and about who will own the system afterwards, not about whether to have one.
The industrial belt through Jharkhand and western Odisha brings a different set of requirements again: contractor and vendor management, plant and site-level stock, and reporting that has to roll several locations into one set of numbers. That is Quick Sale ERP territory rather than healthcare, and it is configured, not written from scratch.

Not as standard, no — and we would rather set that expectation than let proximity imply something we have not costed. Kolkata is a day's travel from Agartala and we are glad to quote for a visit if a project genuinely needs one, but the default delivery model for East India is remote, and the price you are quoted reflects that.
Often, yes, and it is a common reason clients in this zone come to us. What decides it is access: the source code, the database and the hosting account. With all three we can usually assess it in a week and tell you honestly whether it is worth continuing or worth replacing. Without them, replacement is normally the cheaper answer even when it does not feel like it.
