Hill terrain and dispersed facilities. Systems that work at the end of a slow link, not only at the centre of a fast one.
Meghalaya is a state of long, slow journeys between places that are close together on paper. Shillong holds most of the healthcare and higher-education capacity; Tura serves the Garo Hills five hundred road kilometres away; and the sub-divisional facilities in between are reached over roads that weather takes out for part of the year. Software sold on the assumption of a good permanent connection does not survive here.
So the questions we get asked in Meghalaya are about degradation rather than features: what does the system do at eleven in the morning when the link has been down since eight, and what does it do to the day's records when the link comes back. Our answer is a local instance for the critical path and a reconciliation that runs on reconnect, which is the same architecture the remote districts of Tripura forced us to build.
The commercial side of the state looks different from its neighbours too. Shillong's hospitality and tourism trade is a real customer base — seasonal, cash-heavy, and poorly served by generic billing software — and the colleges and institutes in and around the city buy administration systems that have nothing to do with healthcare at all.
Towns and district centres we deliver and support software in, remotely and on scheduled visits.

The functions you cannot pause — registration, billing, prescription and dispensing — keep running against the on-site server and hold their changes locally. Reporting and any feature that genuinely needs the cloud is marked unavailable rather than failing silently, so nobody is left guessing whether a record saved. Everything reconciles on reconnect.
Yes, and we plan for it honestly: Tura is roughly a two-day round trip from Agartala, so a Garo Hills implementation is sequenced around a small number of longer visits rather than frequent short ones. Most of the configuration and training happens remotely before anyone travels, which makes the on-site time count for commissioning and hands-on training.
